Pemba Dorjie amazing Everest speed record: Video from BC

Hundreds of people gathered at foot of the icefall this morning to see Pemba Dorjie return from the summit of Everest with two new records.
Ascent record: 12 hrs 45 minutes – 25% faster than Babu.
Ascent descent record: 21 hours (unofficial)
Pemba left base camp at 1700 hrs on May 22 to start his record-breaking ascent. The previous speed ascent was set by the late Babu Chirri Sherpa in 2000 at 16 hrs 56 min.
Another Sherpa Lhakpa Gelu, had tried to set a speed record as well several days ago, but bad weather made him abort. He is planning to try again in a few days.
