Summit confirmed Everest North side - South side climbers turned back

Expedition leaders Jamie and Alex now confirm the summits of Mike (US), Rosa (Spanish), and the sherpas Da'Nima, Da'Yula, Lhakpa, and Dawa who summitted around 10:30am Nepali time, along with approx another 9 climbers and sherpas.

Alex confirms that Маrko and Viktor (Slovenia) made it as well, and Abramov has a count of around 15 summiters this morning.

Majority turned back

The majority of the summit push climbers were forced to turn back however, and, according to radio calls with the South side all have aborted there, the highest from the Balcony.

The push teams (Indians, Finns, Spanish, Slovenians, Americans, Brits, and other) reported a tough climb and problems with ropes.

Windy and cold

Catalan “Esplugues al Everest” South side expedition, told ExWeb this morning that they had to turn back at 8500 meters due to bitter cold and strong wind.

Everest hasn't had such a late summit in 45 years!
