South Side Everest summit push is on!
13:44 p.m. EDT May 29, 2003
Teams on the South Side are going for the summit tonight. Alpine Ascent's first summit group left two hours ago, and the second wave of climbers will be leaving in 54 minutes time!

Camp IV, 7900m, is clearing out! IMG's group is heading up tonight as is Sean Wisedale with his two Sherpas. Sean was part of the Discovery South African Everest team and decided to stick it out to the end.

Down at the foot of the icefall, Alpine Ascent's base camp manager, Ellie and the crew have their radio batteries charged and rested all afternoon in preparation for the long night ahead.
