Live From Ama Dablam, North Face update and Summit count
Nov 5, 2004 11: 07 EST
The North Face expedition reports why they haven't been able to dispatch: "There were problems with all the phones in Nepal --- they said invalid position. I talked to Thuraya and they told me that they where aware of this issue,' wrote the teams webmaster to ExWeb.
But guess what - they all summited!
Official report of summits
Speaking of which - check the links section for Nepal's official summit count on all peaks this season!
AC Cyber climbers dispatching all the way
Adventure Consultants seems unaffected by Thuraya, and are cybercasting to the very end. Here's their update yesterday:
"Well after another big day we've finally rolled into camp 1. Everyone is very tired, but it's not far to basecamp. The day was made more miserable by the hoots and hollers from our first summit team as they arrived at basecamp and were greeted by cold beer, hot showers and Chomgba's cooking.
Our fate should be the same tomorrow....
Mark and the tired team."
Adventure Consultants, one of the world's leading outfits founded by the legendary mountain guide Rob Hall have 3 guides and a maximum of 9 clients.
