Michael Brown was the first to test Contact. The software had just been developed for expeditions outside ExplorersWeb and Michael used Contact 1.0 with the blind Everest climber Erik Weihenmayer when they scaled Elbrus last year.

The term blogging that has been all the rage lately was thus in fact used already back in 2002, by a blind climber, who shot a picture on a mountain and posted straight to web!

Yesterday, Michael Brown shot this picture of heart transplant survivor Kelly Perkins on top of Matterhorn. Just think about it. Kelly has another persons heart beating inside her. Are we proud to be a part of this.

Check the awesome early history of Contact in the link to your left - images of Eric paragliding, skiing and climbing the other of the Seven Summits.

Kelly Perkins and her husband Craig have reached the top with Tim Brown, Michael Brown, and Jean Pavillard.
