Everest summit push update - close enough?
image story

A flurry of rumors surrounds the mountain as climbers watch with bated breath the few teams going for it tonight.

Home teams are up in all night watches, crossing fingers for their guys. The problem seems to be not so much the weather, but the fixing of ropes. The North side appears to stand a better chance - simply due to the number of climbers and 8 sherpas preparing the route.

On the south side, 3 teams were attempting the summit, but there was no definite plan how to share the rope work. It's close to 12 pm local (Nepal time), and time is running out. Stay tuned.
