Everests Erik Weihenmayer finishes Primal Quest
13:29 p.m. EDT Sep 19, 2003
Just hours before the race cut-off, blind athlete and Everest summiter, Erik Weihenmyer, and the No Boundaries team finished the Primal Quest adventure race.

They endured through 10 days of biking, kayaking, trekking, and various other legs of the race. 80 teams started, and only 53 managed to finish. Towards the end of the race, the athletes started to fall asleep while, biking, trekking, and even during a congratulatory phone call from Erik’s dad.

Interestingly enough, two of the team members, Rob and Cammy, will be in Chicago this weekend for a 24-hour race.
