Everest South: Iranians SUMMIT!

IranMountainzone has just emailed a newsflash to ExplorersWeb:
“Few minutes ago, Iranian Mountaineering federation announced that 8 members of Iranian men and women expedition has summitted Everest from south, this morning at 10:45 local time. No other details containing name of summitters has been released up to moment.”
Most probably there will be some female climbers among those who have summited, and they will be the first muslim women to reach the top of Everest ever.
The Iran Mountaineering Federation organized its first all female Everest expedition this year. Sixty nine women accepted the challenge and attended various test climbs around Iran since December. The all dwindled down to seven chosen expedition members.
The Iranian ‘delegation’ on Everest it’s not exclusively feminine though: The National team of Iranian Men’s mountaineers were accompanying this expedition and also attempting the summit themselves. The last successful climbs by an Iranian team on Everest was in May 1998, when four members summited the mountain.
