image story

May 27, 2005 00: 24 EST
Duncan Chessell and Jamie McGuinness from the DCXP/Project Himalaya Everest 2005 Expedition reported to ExWeb in this hour that there has been a summit on Mount Everest tonight: "Just watched 7:30 am one figure summit Everest, north side, below a second climber took probably another 1 hr to summit. It was one Sherpa (Fura Chiri Sherpa) and a Japanese climber."

The Japanese climber could be a mountain guide, who had previously sustained frostbite to the face and fingers.
