Dec 28, 2004 11: 12 EST
The Russian Everest North Wall climb was recently awarded on of the greatest adventure happenings in 2004 by ExWeb. 2005 won't be without action though. There will be one more climb to the Everest North Face!

Russian led international team

A large team of around 20 climbers (a list of the candidates, about 38 persons, is published on Russianclimb.com) from Russia, Byelorussia, Georgia, Armenia, USA and Australia will attempt the route in the very center of the North Face. The team hopes to finish what the earlier Russian team started, yet this time with less than 3 m/10ft deviation!

Second World War

The expedition will head out early March. Details will be released early January 2005, but it's already clear that the Expedition leader is Vadimir Prihodjko (Moscow), and climbing leader is Kazbek Hamitsaev (Ossetia, Russian Federation). Hamitsaev's team climbed the North Face up to 7000m in 1997.

The climb will be devoted to the 60-th anniversary of the Victory in the Second World War.
