7 Summits club update: Harry heading back down!|
Jun 3, 2005 03: 53 EST
Harry Kikstra's home team has just reported great news on the climbers high on Everest's North side. The guys made it through their third night over 8000m and now are heading back down.
We just received further updates from our team on Everest:
All group 2 team members are alive and kicking, and on their way down.
The team staying the night at 8300m (Harry, John and their sherpas) has descended this morning. They are now at 7700m. Dmitri is in ABC, and Lorenzo is on his way to BC.
As soon as we have further information on the team members, as well as Harry's story on what he was doing up there yesterday for 21 hours between leaving camp 3 at 1AM and returning at 10PM, we will let you know.

This year, Alexander Abramov joined hands with Harry Kikstra of 7summits.com, forming the 7summits-club. This expedition's unorthodox Everest climb has been a true adventure, through thick and thin, through the good times and through the bad.
Two Slovenian team members - Маrko Lihteneker (45) and Viktor Mlinar (38) - summited last weekend. Sadly, Marko was lost during descent. Although wrecked, the remaining climbers launched a new bid last weekend, dividing in two groups.
First group succeeded and is back in ABC. Second group's members were attempting the summit last night.
