Weather Service For High Ambitions

So, I want say thank you very much for your help. I am very grateful for the forecast weather and your special attention for our expedition.
You don't know, how you are helping us.

With my best regards,

January 30, 2003 - There are two weather sources, one European and one American for greatest accuracy. This year the forecasts will be available to climbers in high camps as short text messages sent directly to their satellite phones. MountEverest.net is planning another project involving various measurement instruments to further enhance the feedback on the forecasts from the various levels on the mountain.

The forecasts are free of charge, however, the climbers are encouraged to share the reports with small expeditions and individuals climbing without satellite connections. Feedback on the accuracy of the reports is also greatly appreciated.

Expedition's comments on the forecasts:

Thank you very much for your information. For us, it was really important and I think that a half of the success of our expedition is a cause of your forecast. I think that level of precision was around 90%.  We start to go up 14th and this day was bad, snowing a lot, but you had said that at 16th it will be nice and we trust on it. So, we got summit. If we had waited for starting with good weather, probably we had arrived late to summit, with bad weather again. Thank you very much for all and feel free to ask me what you need, ok?

Best regards,

Carlos Pauner, Makalu 2002

Thank you very much for the weather reports for this Karakorum-season.  Robert, our guide on Broad Peak told me that mostly all the reports were very precise.

I did follow them daily while they were climbing and they seemed to be right on. I thought they were quite easy to ready.
We really appreciate the reports and were a valuable asset to the expedition. I hope you continue to offer this in the future.

Best Regards
