(MountEverest.net) Everest in 1982 was a very different story from the prepared slopes found there today. Following two accidents in which 4 people died, a team of Canadian climbers were forced to build a funeral pyre using wood from the valley below.
THE CLIMB, a documentary about the expedition was scheduled to air on the CBC's Doc Zone on February 28th but has now been postponed.
"We apologize for the short notice of this announcement, but we have just been notified by the CBC that they have made a last-minute decision to pre-empt the originally-scheduled broadcast of The Climb," writes a spokesman. "In light of recent events, CBC has decided to air a documentary about former leader Fidel Castro."
The new airdate for The Climb is Thursday, March 27th at 9:00pm on CBC’s Doc Zone .
